My
name is Ingrid, married to Bert and a proud mom of five beautiful children.
From
the time that I was still very young I am used to having animals around me,
my parents have their own kennel, they have been breeding Dachshunds for
about 30 years now and still enjoy every minute of it. I must have
inherited the love for animals from my parents but instead of Dachshunds I
fell in love with the
Turkish Angora. I came in contact with the TUA through a friend of mine
about ten years ago, it took me a while to persuade my husband to have a
TUA of our own, it became Sophie, a very sweet but pigheaded female. She
could drive you crazy with all her bad habits but you could love her to bits
if she gave you one of her famous hugs, those could last for hours and
hours. Because of a very vicious tumor we had to say goodbye to her
much to soon, we still miss her every day but we will never forget that she
was the one who made us fall in love with the Turkish Angora.
We
started our cattery in January 2007, our name "Askim Birinci"
means something like "my first love" in Turkish, we wanted to keep
the memory of our beloved Sophie alive
in this way.
At the moment we have seven cats, five
Turkish Angora's, one Persian Longhair
and one European Shorthair.
We
are a small cattery and we will only breed once or twice a year but my goal
is to have a good and positive input on promoting and upgrading my favorite
breed the Turkish Angora! |
